The history of Surrender Band goes back to to 2004 in London when Charl Folscher and his brother, Julian, started on the idea for a worship album project to be called Surrender. 2005 found Charl back in South Africa (where he recorded an independent solo album) and Julian in the British Army, and the brothers gave up the idea saying that if it was to be, God will give life to it.

In 2006 Pierre and Helena Smith together with John-Morgan O'Kennedy returned from a working trip as musicians in the Seychelles. Charl and Pierre (brothers-in-law) started talking about forming a band and within a few weeks Surrender Band was born. Handri De Villiers and Herman Nieuwoudt joined soon after. Pierre was later replaced by Lourens and Helena decided to pursue her solo career.

We love God and are passionate about the cause of Jesus. Music is only a tool in our hands which we desire to use for the glory of God and establishing His kingdom.
